Rebecca has over 12 years’ conservation experience specialising in bats, but also covering other legally protected species. As well as gaining a degree in Zoology from Cardiff University, she was also the recipient of a Millennium Award for Conservation from Bristol Zoological Gardens for work with bats. Rebecca is heavily involved in bat and mammal conservation at local, regional and national level in voluntary and professional capacities.
As a consultant, she has acted on behalf of many developers, providing the expertise for the timely delivery of Wales Assembly Government (WAG) and Natural England (NE) European Protected Species licence applications. Rebecca holds licences to survey for bats, great crested newts, crayfish, small mammals, shrews and dormice in England and Wales and a bat licence for Scotland.
Rebecca is an accredited bat worker trainer for the BCT and Natural England and delivers training courses for other organisations, such as the University of Birmingham. She holds a Site Visitor Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Passport and a City & Guilds Certificate in Confined Space Entry.
Steve is a bird specialist with over 45 years’ experience and our most experienced field ecologist. As a highly skilled ornithologist he has appeared on local and national radio and is co-author of Where to Watch Birds in the West Midlands. He is also the Herefordshire County Bird Recorder and is active at local and regional level. Steve holds Natural England bat and great crested newt licences and a CCW bat licence. Steve also has many years’ of experience of site supervision as an Ecological Clerk of Works.
Lisa has over 13 years of administrative experience, including working for a large banking corporation, where she gained a Certificate in Land Registration Law and Practice. She has assists in the preparation of reports and EPS Licence applications and is the first point of contact for clients calling the office. Through working at Collins Environmental Consultancy Lisa has discovered a liking for wildlife recording and accompanies the team regularly on surveys.
Where necessary, Collins Environmental Consultancy employ the services of suitably qualified consultants to assist in delivering larger projects and those where specific expertise are required.
We welcome speculative CVs from experienced and qualified ecologists who wish to work in an independent consultancy. A minimum of three years experience in consultancy is required, including surveying as well as report and licence application preparation. EPS licences required.
